Trainer's Comments: Pat's first goal was to add muscle mass. He had been working out for years and was already pretty lean. After only six months, training 3-4 days per week, he added 18 lbs. of muscle to his frame. Phase 2 of the training involved getting as lean as possible while maintaining the newly acquired muscle. As you can see, the plan was very successful: within months, Pat was able to drop 3 1/2 lbs. and still gain muscle.

For the next 6 months, Pat trained on his own and was able to maintain everything he had worked hard for. Then he was ready to get even bigger. Within a 7 week period, Pat was able to add 6 more lbs. of muscle- an amazing feat for someone who has been training so hard for so long!!
