Trainer's Comments: Women store more body fat than men, and nature intended that it be more difficult for them to lose it as well. As the body ages, metabolism slows down and hormone levels decline, making it even more difficult to shed fat. So being a woman over 40 with hypothyroidism, Margaret had a formidable challenge ahead when she began training. However, for the last two years, her dedication to her goals has been unwavering. Although she is only in Orlando about 4 months of the year, she gives 100% effort while she is here, and consistently makes progress. She is 20 lbs. of fat lighter for her efforts. She has written a very detailed testimonial about her transformation below. Margaret has truly been an inspiration to all middle-aged women and a pleasure to work with.

Client's Comments: "TO ALL POTENTIAL CLIENTS:

It is my pleasure to have the opportunity to write about my personal training experience with J.D. Doyle.

In February of 2001, I took time to take a good hard look in the mirror. I saw a 49 year-old woman at 5'7" and 186 pounds. I couldn't believe that I had let myself go and let other priorities rule my life. I was miserable! It took me 15 years to get into this shape and it was time to do something about my lack of physical fitness. I went back to Weight Watchers, since I had success with the program in the past. I lost 10 pounds and then got stuck. I was "dieting" but not exercising except walking a couple times a week.

My husband and I own and operate a college student travel business in Colorado. Our off-season is April through June, and we spend this time as well a month in November in Orlando. I decided in April of 2001 to join Cardio Club Fitness Center and work with a personal trainer. I have never played sports, been an athletic person or "worked out". It was intimidating, to say the least, to walk into the club for the first time. I had never set foot on a treadmill and had no idea of what to do with any of the machines or weights.

I said I was looking for a personal trainer I could communicate with and someone willing to work with me from zero. I was introduced to J.D., we talked, and I purchased a package of sessions. I knew if I made this monetary commitment, I wouldn't quit! I feel like that was my lucky day. I have trained with him now each time I am in Orlando for the past two years.

Thanks to his care and guidance, I feel like a totally different person. He truly respects each one of his clients and their fitness goals and then develops an individualized program. If you follow his direction with regards to resistance training, cardio sessions, and nutrition and supplement plan - success will follow. Every aspect of your progress is documented during each training session. He performs regular evaluations consisting of a body composition analysis with body fat testing, measurements, and scale weight. You are given a copy of your "fitness report" listing the results of each evaluation so you can see on paper the progress you have made. I have learned not to focus only on the scale number - although that continues to be a challenge for me!

J.D.'s background as an educator is apparent the first time you work with him. He teaches you! It took awhile for me to feel confident enough to workout on my own, but I now do because of what he has taught me. Don't expect the training sessions to be easy, they aren't. If it gets even close to easy, then he pushes you on to the next level. I look forward to each session because I know he will focus strictly on me and I want to give 100% effort to get the most out of each workout.

There are differences in trainers. Believe me. After I returned to Colorado, after the first three month period I trained with J.D., I joined a fitness center and worked with a trainer. At this point, I lacked the confidence to go it alone. I didn't like the program and found myself frustrated and dreading the sessions. I had been "spoiled" by J.D.'s style of training. Now, I workout on my own and follow a program he has developed for me. I always feel like J.D. is there pushing for that one extra rep! Then, I look forward to moving on to the next level when I see him again. After you have worked with him, just look around the gym and observe other trainers. You'll quickly see the difference.

My transformation is a work in progress! I have goals that I continue to strive for. I will accomplish them, and then I'll set more, as fitness is now a way of life for me. I know that I have a personal trainer that is there for me every step of the way. That is a fantastic feeling!

Let me conclude by expressing my thoughts about J.D. - the person. He is a true professional dedicated to his chosen profession. Not only is he an educator knowledgeable in all aspects of physical fitness, he provides the motivation to succeed. Seeing what he has accomplished for himself as a bodybuilder proves that he leads by example. I value not only the skills he has taught me but the friendship we have developed. He has a positive personality and has the ability to make striving for your goals a challenging but fun experience. I recommend J.D. without reservation to anyone who is serious about their own personal fitness. Count on him to consistently exceed your expectations. He will assist you in every way possible in becoming the "Ultimate-U".
